Tropical Modern Holiday Inspired Wedding at the Historic Walton House

After an amazing styled wedding shoot that practically went viral (click here to see more), some of the vendors including Monica from Events with a Promise and Angie from Angie Lilian & Co reached out to me to ask if I would partake in another stylized wedding shoot. Of course, my answer was “Yes”. In less than a week, we all gathered together at the Historic Walton House to capture everyone’s beautifully crafted details.

Keeping it simple, I incorporated the blooms from the groom’s boutinniere and the bride’s bouquet into the invitation suite. A graphic floral envelope liner was added to the blue euro flap envelope to surprise guests with a fun pop of color. The gold trim added a nice touch to both the invitation card and rsvp card, not to mention the floral belly band as well as the matching red rsvp envelope.

Another fun detail to add in was a wax seal with my logo on it. More than anything, I’ve been wanting to include something branded into suite shots without it being super intrusive like a digitally added logo. I’m kinda in love.

Another fun detail created for the shoot was pearlized ornaments with each guest’s first name written on them.

Rose Gold Modern Boho Styled Wedding at Rich Hippie House

After having worked another fab photoshoot with Liz from Mi Vintage Rentals (click here to swoon), I was ecstatic when she contacted me for this more modern take on the bohemian styled wedding. Here was the kicker - she wanted it all the scream “Rose Gold”. So needless to say I got to work on creating a simple, clean design with #alltherosegold I could muster.

While I couldn’t attend this styled shoot, the Cardonas did an amazing job putting together the flat lay of the entire invitation suite. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better shots. Funny Story: It was only until after a few months that I realized that the rsvp card was set for a wrong date. Why am I telling you this? Because this is what happens on lack of sleep and I don’t want anyone making the same mistake. One of those moments that will forever be cemented into history. LoL

Continuing with the handmade paper and spot calligraphy, I created some place cards with a gradated painted detail on one edge of the place card.

Romantic Nightmare Before Christmas Inspired Wedding at The Curtiss Mansion

There have been moments where I’ve had to pinch myself to make sure the moment is real. Getting the text from Monica from Events With A Promise about this shoot was one of them.

The reception space was covered in moss and leaves and had a table with a purple and eerie green shimmer table cloth. The table was adorned with candles, a stunningly spooky flower arrangement and ghostlike chairs. Off in the distance was an area wh…

As you may know, Halloween weddings sometimes get a bad wrap for being too “themed” and stereotypically only consist of the colors Black and Orange. This was not the case for this photoshoot. While dark colors were a must, shimmery accents and white pumpkins made this styled wedding a ghoulish delight.

The paper goods provided by Only One Mark was a five-piece invitation suite, all printed on handmade paper. Incorporating details such as a hand-drawn, preserved forget-me-not flower and a headstone shaped RSVP card, the design helped carry the eeri…

When it came to designing the invitation suite and menus, I wanted to make sure that it was not only elegant but it somehow tied in perfectly with the eerie, whimsical impression the film The Nightmare Before Christmas is known for. Adding in lyrical language and painting a purplish haze throughout the suite tied in some of the elements we all love from Tim Burton’s films.

And one of my favorite details is the fact that the couple has decided to invite Mr. Unlucky to their wedding (which in hindsight may have a horrifying result). It makes the inner fan girl in me flip.

The Blood Red Scarlet wax seal on the menus provided the perfect pop of color amongst all the dark elements found at the reception.

The happy couple who ended the night with a bang - handheld sparklers lit up the night sky.

The best part about this shoot was something I found out about afterwards. The couple who modeled for our shoot, Kelvin and Genesis, have been married for over 10 years and have four children. Their youngest has Dravet Syndrome, a life-threatening epilepsy condition, which has left Kelvin as sole caretaker and Genesis a full-time working mama and student. This shoot was an opportunity for life to hit a pause button to enjoy each other as a couple.

I am so glad something like this was able to give so much joy back into this couple’s marriage. And I mean, if you click the buttons below, you’ll be able to see how many amazing photos they’ll have to try to choose from.

Rustic Game of Thrones Styled Wedding at The Cooper Estate

It’s no secret that Game of Thrones has become a world wide phenomenon. It’s also not a secret that I have never seen an episode in my life. Whenever I mention this to someone, there is a gasp followed by, “BUT WHY?!?!?”. I genuinely don’t have an answer as to why I’ve never gotten into the HBO hit series, but there is one thing that was clear when I was asked by Abby from Blue Orchid Event Design to participate in a styled wedding shoot - I wanted in.

Trying to keep away from the usual medieval tokens such as a scroll, I really wanted to keep the invitation clean and modern but maintain a rustic feel. The addition of the hand torn edges wrapped with gray twine and wax seal cemented this idea. I also wanted to convey a little bit of the ice factor (#winterishere) and did so by using a vellum mailing envelope.
