Growing and Learning

Shouldn't we be doing that anyway?

Its been some time since we've blogged. There have been so many changes to everything with Only One Mark that its hard to keep track of it all.

For the past three months, we have been creating and expanding Only One Mark farther than I think either of us had ever imagined it could go. Let's start off with the fact that we are now on a couple different Wedding Planning Websites including: Wedding Wire, MyWeddingWedding.com, and OneWed. We really want to service other brides and event throwers to get the help they want in regards to their event stationary. If you want to be able to incorporate Elephants flying on a trapeze on your wedding invitation, I'm going to ask you what color tutu they are wearing. Ok...maybe that is a crazy example, but that is what I truly believe we are set out to do.

We are signing up for Webinars (yes...they have those for event/wedding professionals), Seminars, and even connecting with other event/wedding vendors to learn how we can best do what we do. Not just for us, but so we can provide the best service possible to you, our clients.

Another way we are learning is through your responses and reviews once we have completed a service for you. We love getting feedback on how we did (no really, we do). That's why I would like to encourage you to do the following: If you've hired us to complete a service for you, we would love it if you would go to either one or all the websites we mentioned above to let others know about our services.

If you've left a review, YOU. ARE. AWESOME!!  If you haven't, please take the time to do so, cause you're awesome too. I want people to hear even a teensy bit of your story because I think it's worth it. You're story, like I learned long ago, may be someone else's story with a few changed details. It makes us all feel like we aren't alone.

Something New

Every Bride follows the traditional mantra that others have used before them:

  • Something Old
  • Something New
  • Something Borrowed
  • Something Blue

Typically, as was in my case, my wedding gown was my "something new". Even before I had started the "hunt" for the perfect gown, I had my own ideas of what I wanted in a dress. I wanted to feel beautiful and classic, but with a bit of the nontraditional. I had wanted to rent my dress, but knew that I would more than likely have to buy it due to my curvy figure. This also scared me since watching shows like "Say Yes to the Dress" and "My Fair Weddings" gave the impression that if you wanted to look exquisite in a dress, the price tag would be more than $5,000.

My attitudes changed after my one and only dress appointment at Brides of Florida. Their friendly attitude and encouraging words helped me find "The Dress". They had exactly what I wanted and were willing to listen to what I needed as a Bride. It was also a blessing that they have great pricing and payment programs.

If you are still looking for your dress, definitely visit their website and make your appointment today. You'll be glad you did.

Tools & LovePhotoApps Giveaway

Edits do not always need to be extravagant. Sometimes a simple filter can do the trick.

Edits do not always need to be extravagant. Sometimes a simple filter can do the trick.

Different tools and methods are necessary in any vocation. We should constantly be learning, even if it has nothing directly to do with what goes on in our everyday lives. With that being said, the same goes for us. We at Only One Mark, Inc. believe anything that will help us make your product better is an asset. If you follow us on our social media outlets, you may have noticed that recently there have been a lot more photo posts on Instagram and Facebook. None of these images were edited using Photoshop or Publisher. In fact, they were all taken, edited, and published right from my iPhone. That’s right, my iPhone!

Sparkly Nicole’s LovePhotoApps Skill Share Class was introduced to me by another blogger (Picturing Disney). Once I saw what wonderful edits she was creating, I had to check out the class. Through simple video lessons and projects, Sparkly Nicole teaches you how to use some photo editing applications that you may have never known existed. She gives you enough information to comfortably maneuver through the apps. After each video, you find yourself creating and experimenting with different imagery that you never thought you would use. The class is simple and fun. If you have a free day to yourself, you can complete the course in about an hour or two. If you are like me, it will take about a week to fit the time into a hectic schedule. Some of the apps she introduces to you are free. There are others that you will have to pay for. As a tip, I would watch the lessons first and then decide if you would use the app long term and, if so, purchase the app. You discover that there are many possibilities to explore when you have the right tools.  I would recommend the course to everyone, not just the avid Instagram or Facebook poster. The apps and course material she gives you gives even the least savvy of tech users a chance to impress everyone.

After taking this fabulous course, we decided to team up with Sparkly Nicole and Picturing Disney for an awesome giveaway. If you win, you can take the class for free! Make sure to complete the rafflecopter below. The more people you follow, the better chances you have to win the giveaway.

Enter below and don’t forget that even if you aren’t the winner, everyone benefits from the Skill Share Class!!
